“Once you understand and appreciate other people’s cultural backgrounds, then you can also connect with them more” Either being born or migrating into America you are considered as an American Citizen. In reality are you actually treated as American Citizen? People of America tend to stereotype different races and cultures.However,America is full of diversity and multicultural human beings, but there is a lot of oppression against races or a specific race. Therefore, Americans should embrace being multicultural because if we don't embrace it then it limits how individuals of different cultures feel oppressed. Going back into the topic of Muslims ,they had suffered more identity crisis than others. First of all their “identity” is as “terrorists, “bombers” and “ isis”, not someone who is intelligent or a caring person. Secondly, they are not able to make an identity for themselves here in america because of all the misjudgments. If you see a Muslim or any brown person on the news you first assumption would be “They placed a bomb somewhere” or “it's their fault they were there”.Thirdly , people think only muslims cause harm in the community or the world. Aziz Ansari supports the argument that muslims are not the only one causing violence, “According to reporting by Mother Jones, since 9/11, there have been 49 mass shootings in this country, and more than half of those were perpetrated by white males.” Another key point is Chinese Americans are also in an identity crisis. Eric Liu,an author,states “As I explain in my new book "A Chinaman's Chance," I call myself "Chinese American" -- without a hyphen. American is the noun, Chinese the adjective. Or, rather, Chinese is one adjective. I am many kinds of American, after all: a politically active American, a short American, an earnest American, an educated American.”.The main point of this argument is why should Chinese American should be hyphenated, his life americanize but follows the beliefs of his Chinese
