Neither Wolf nor Dog is a very intellectual book that provides many different outlooks on hard-hitting topics. Dan is a very intelligent, wise Native American that takes Nerburn on a very long journey. In Neither Wolf nor Dog by Kent Nerburn, the separation Nerburn experiences from his home life is critical when he is trying to connect more with nature, understand Dan’s point of view, and get a better idea on how to write his book. In Mowat’s writing, he uses emotion, facts, and trust to convince the reader that wolves are not bloodthirsty killers. To begin with, Mowat uses emotion to help the reader connect with the wolves. In chapter five he watches as the wolves are “centered around the playing of a game of tag” (64). From this, readers are able to connect with the wolves and understand the joy
There is an estimated 60,000 wolves in Canada. Farley Mowat studies the grey wolf in his book Never Cry Wolf (1963). Throughout the book, Mowat uses the rhetorical strategies pathos, logos, and personification to disprove the misconception about wolves. The book is about a scientist (Farley Mowat) that flies into the Canadian Barrens in order to research wolves. His goal is to prove that wolves are killing thousands of caribou for sport, but he find that the wolves are not to blame for the decrease in caribou populations.
They Cage the Animals at Night by Jennings Burch is a picaresque journey to the heart or even the very soul of humans, and it can be compared to a madman trying to procure peace and tranquility. At every pit stop he makes, his wisdom increases and is affected by others, positively or negatively. Jennings Michael Burch, the young, feeble, and reticent protagonist, is on a crusade to find the true meaning of love, peace, and tranquility which started with him being dissevered from his family and taken from home to home and from institution to institution. Characters go through transformations within a short amount of time and reader’s interpretations often evolve during the change. Tub and Frank, characters in the short story Hunters in the Snow written by Tobias Wolff, walk into a new pair of shoes after the fearless leader, Kenny, suddenly loses all power. Kenny is introduced in the fourth paragraph with his buddies obviously headed on a hunt. Throughout the whole story Kenny is joking around or teasing Tub or Frank, but mainly Tub. Kenny begins to mess around pointing his gun at various objects, saying “I hate you”, then shooting.

Mowat and his colleagues had the wrong idea about the wolves and this novel allows the reader to be able to see the truth. Mowat spent enough time familiarizing himself with the wolves so that they did not see him as a threat. As his trip came to an end, Mowat had to investigate the wolves’ den. As he entered he realized he was not alone. The female wolf, Angelina, and one of her pups were hidden due to the
Before travelling to the Barren Grounds and writing about the people inhabiting that land, Farley Mowat travelled to the Northwest Territories as a government biologist. He had been sent on a mission to figure out the extent to which wolves were responsible for the declining caribou populations of the North. While in the Northwest Territories, Farley discovered that it was trappers who were largely responsible for the disappearance of caribou, not wolves. This finding led Farley to write a book titled, “Never Cry Wolf”. In this book, Farley discussed his beliefs concerning animals such as wolves and he used his platform to spread the message that wolves are not bad like we portray them to be.

They may reminisce about their past wolf life and daydream. In a wolf pack, the alpha is the leader of the pack. The alpha would be in control and the rest of the pack would follow. That was Jeanette.
During the klondike rush, cruelty of work animals was a problem. Work animals were extremely important during the klondike rush. In the book “Call of the Wild,” by Jack London, characters named, Francois and Hal have very different views on work animals, because Hal sees work animals very differently than Francois. First, Francois is nice to his work animals, because he lets them rest and feeds them when they need it. Francois also enforces behavior.
White Fang The White Fang is an exciting book written by Jack London. It falls into the historical fiction genre. I chose to read this book because it centers on the life and hardships of a half-dog, half-wolf named White Fang. This topic aroused my interest since I naturally feel sympathetic towards abused animals.
