Advertising plays a huge role in society today. The point of this paper is to try and find ads that showed a stereotype that is prevalent in the world today and place this idea of what is male and what is female. But I couldn’t help but notice even with in these ads some of the hidden messages behind the advertisements, such as sex, happiness, and comfort. These ideas are what companies really use in advertising and while may not be direct and in-your-face, they might have a common theme such as a women on her back, knees or viewed in a position that shows either submissiveness or a come-and-get-me, bad girl manner. It is with these ideas that companies use to target men and gives the idea that women should act or behave in this fashion. Ways to target women are showing an ideal on how a woman should appear: sexy, pretty innocent, confident, and happy with what they are doing. …show more content…

It is in these manners that corporations target people. Now some of the products might have nothing to do with cleaning, eating, or cloths, companies will include raunchy images to grab the attention of guys and set up an ideal for women. Where as some ads will be direct, others are discrete about it and may have this allusion of innocence. When advertisements are not direct, they leave a thought in a consumers mind that the consumer will think about and associate that product with. Then consumers will seek those products because of the association with the thoughts that come with the product . The first on is an ad that is a men’s advertising and is supposed to be advertising ties, but has other hidden messages behind it. The second is an ad for a cleaning product and goes into detail about what it is going do for your
