This Time article is about the changes that have occurred with women in society since 1972. It mostly talks about women’s increase in the work force and how it might continue to grow and if it needs to grow and continue to change. In forty years, women have made major changes with their numbers in the work force. In about every division of labor, they have increased tremendously. In 1972, of all lawyers, only three percent were women. In 2008, however, thirty-two percent of lawyers were female. They have increased about thirty percent in law, twenty percent in medical, thirty-three percent in news-casting, and twelve percent in the military. I’m sure that this article has influenced many women to change their views of society about where they belong and what they should do. However, it is hard for me to entirely agree or disagree with her. I will agree with her that women should have every opportunity to work and receive jobs as men do. By law, women do have this right, but a lot of times in society, males receive more opportunities. But what is this change for? Is it supposed to make our government better? Is it supposed to help our economy? Will is change our society into a great happy society? No, it’s simply for women’s pride. As a male, I respect women, but I believe this “change” will not really affect me. I do not believe this change is really NEEDED. I have been raised where my mother stays at home, watches over me and my siblings, runs the errands, and maintains the house. My father on the other hand, works most of the day, comes home, eats dinner, and spends time with his family at night and on weekends. I think this is sort of stereotypical for a married couple but my mom loves her job of being a mother and a wife. She does not desire working like my father
