“Technology Taking Over?”, by Yzzy Gonzalez speaks on how we are transitioning into a technology dependent society. One example Gonzalez uses to fortify her argument is the idea that people become obsessed with using rapid, and more efficient devices to proceed with their daily lives. For reference, she mentions mobile banking and its effects on how people spend their money. For perspective, mobile banking allows for people to transfer money with convenience, which in turn abolishes the need to drive to an ATM. Moreover, Gonzalez utilizes her own morning routine and provides the reader with rhetorical questions—encouraging them to reflect upon their own morning routine, as well as the similarities that could be present.
The line between rational and irrational thought is often blurred for some more than others. Usually when we cross this line into irrational thought our brain will let us know that what we are doing isn’t within reason. Mike Rose used all of these techniques in this essay, to show how student who are pushed aside, distracted, or fall behind and fail. In this essay Rose describes that students who have teachers who are unprepared, or incompetent majorly contribute to student failure. The Use of Rhetorical Devices in the “Google Home” Super Bowl Commercial Companies and other forms of media strategically use the three rhetorical appeals, ethos, pathos, and logos, to market goods and/or promote ideas. The appeals have been used for centuries are still prevalent in all types of modern day propaganda. If used correctly, ethos, pathos, and logos can be used as clever tactics to engrain information into the brains of consumers. One of the more notable ways that brands use these appeals are commercials. Google, the world’s most famous multinational technology company, used the three appeals to reach success.
In the speech “How to use a paper towel” performed for TED in 2012, Joe Smith delivered an interesting and intriguing speech on how to better use paper towels, to a room of executives and the video would soon be shared with millions. He used a style of speech that although lacking complexity and info at times most definitely kept people watching and listening. Small jokes and simplicity made the speech digestible, comprehensible, and potent. The mode of logic used by Joe Smith is Logos, his use of logos was represented by his use of statistics in the beginning and end of his speech.
Past leaders such as Andrew Jackson, Adolf Hitler, Benito Mussolini, and Marc Antony are evidence that society does not reward morality and good character in leadership. Society is drawn to leaders that have good rhetoric, propaganda, and charismatic personalities, and society supports them despite their immorality. Society is concerned about stability more than the morality of their leaders and will support immoral leaders in times of crisis to provide stability. In history there have been multiple leaders that have used rhetoric, propaganda and charismatic personalities to gain power, despite their morals.
For my final project of the semester, Project 4, I decided to revise my rhetorical analysis of project 2. I took your comments and feedback very solemnly, to avail further my inditement. I understood the feedback consummately, and optically discerned precisely what I needed to do. The main thing I wanted to fixate on was understanding that the paper was filled with many conceptions, and constructing it down to precise conceptions, and expounding them exhaustively. I abstracted some conceptions that I believe that weren’t apart of the process of explicating the argument or how it works.

Jarrell Yves L. Chua CSETHICS Aaron Swartz’s political advocacy was about the freedom of information to the public. He wanted to give the people the free access to academic journals, federal court documents, government issues, etc. He didn’t like the idea of having to pay for information or knowledge that a person should learn or know. I think that his main concern were the marginalized sectors, wherein they don’t have free access to knowledge, news, and other important documents. As a college student, I definitely agree with his political advocacy because a lot of people will benefit from it.
