The only written language was Latin and people who could read Greek, So we have an under-developed land, that all of discovers from the ancient world – many books that no one had seen for hundreds of years. Like the Romans, Europeans wanted to produce poems, books and developed culture because they thought, like the Romans did, that high culture, great books and poems were what great and mighty nations have.
