Yet many people nowadays still refer to Rome as one of the greatest ancient civilizations of all time.
The characteristics of the Roman Empire was they had a very well disciplined and well-equipped army. It also was very large and had good military tactics. Another characteristic is expansion of Rome as they made their way from the Atlantic Ocean deep into the Middle East, this meant that the Roman influence would have a big impact on the centuries. The Roman Empires had a great legal system that was open to all citizens in any part of the empire. What led to the rise of the Roman Empire is that they kept and extended the Greek culture and political ideas and added some of their own in law and empire help it become a power house for a long time.
