Analysis of College Services and its Effect on the Students
Background:
Nowadays, many students missed the opportunities in attending activities outside of class due to many factors such as family or economic circumstances. However, attending those activities not only provide students relaxation but also practice their critical skills which will benefit them in the future. University act as a platform for the students to learn acquired skills from academic and non-academic activities. These skills are not limited to the traditional academic skills, but open to non-academic skills and social engagements. Krause and Coates mentioned that engagement in the university is generally composed of academic, non-academic and social aspects of the student experience. (Krause and Coates,2008) The typical engagement includes peer engagement, intellectual engagement, and beyond class engagement and they are crucial processes in developing the non-academic skills. “Non-academic skills are key to

They offer students chances to gain leadership experience in many fields including student advocacy, environmental activism, event planning, management, and finance. (ASUCD, 2015) The student government not only offer students an opportunity to gain leadership but also consider students as an apart of the senate which holds the right to modify the campus rules. The intellectual engagement scales are involved in this service. Students may practice Intellectual engagement scales through the process of coming up with creative ideas which may make the student community better. The purpose of this service is to develop student’s social, emotional and soft skills. Casel mentioned that social and emotional skills help improves school climate and student discipline. (Kamenetz, 2015) Students government is like a virtual government in reality. Students can take the role of being presidents or senates and try to govern the student
