My service-learning journey on [name of the service-learning project In this essay, I will share about what I have learnt about myself as well as the community, our possible contribution and impact to the community, the lesson we learnt and the challenges we faced. Through participating in this project, it provides me a chance to apply what we have learnt from class into practice. I visited to Tai Hing Estate at the orientation day, I saw the housing design that used in 70’s. The surface of the building was in a slope. From our lesson, I knew that the target residents of public housing were immigrant and low income people. So, why so many immigrant would like to reside in Tuen Mun rather than living in the public housing located at Kowloon district? One of the possible reasons is because the geographic location of Tuen Mun is near Mainland China and most of the immigrants are coming from the Mainland, thus, living at Tuen Mun …show more content…

Students seem to loss their attention to class easily. It may because our teaching materials are boring or too difficult, they had learnt what we planned to teach. Electronic device such as their smartphones, computer and the headphone are the main distractions. Besides, they also played with the computer chair. To cope with this situation, we designed some prize game to help them focus more on our class. By asking what they have learnt at school, we had adjust some of our teaching material afterward. Another challenge we have faced is the unpredictable incident. For example, students were late due to traffic jam or absent from our class, so we had never achieved full attendance. The most unforgettable incident was the classroom door was locked so we could not start our lesson on time. These incidents leaded us to change or adjust our plan and course
