Millions in Canada each year suffer from addiction and even death with larger and larger percentages of the population finding it easier to gain access to illegal substances. Use of illegal substances will often lead to substance abuse and addiction. Addiction is very powerful as it can have strong adverse effects, rewiring the brain and destroying life in pursuit of a substance. Efforts have been made to combat this issue in Canada, with increased funding to law enforcement to combat illegal sale and possession of substances, however this problem continues and has no end in sight.
Substance abuse disorder can occur to all genders, cultures, age, and occupations including nursing. There are many risk factors that put nurses at risk to this chronic disease. Nurses are often exposed to high-stressed environment which put them at increased risk for substance abuse. The nursing profession comes with stresses of long shifts, shortage of staff, exposure to death and dying patients, and the emotional exhaustion of putting others before themselves. This could lead nurses to seek for unhealthy ways to relieve their stress.
When I complete all of my schoolings I would like to become a behavioral disorder counselor. This career is for me because I love helping people, I want to help people better understand themselves so they can overcome their problems, and the human brain and the thought process has always been a huge interest to me. Is has always been a goal in my life to be somewhere in the healthcare field working, and this is the area that intrigues me and always keeps me interested. As of right now, my future plans are to finish high school, graduate college with a doctorate in behavioral psychology, and then further on to work as a counselor in a private practice.

I, mostly, enjoyed reading it, because his vision of literature, his thoughts about books, authors, readers are different from mine, and that is one of the reasons why it is interesting.
