As I sit in the basement of the Lilly Library, surrounded by friends who have become family in a few short months, covered in calculus and EQ notes, and listening to some Duke Ellington jazz music for my Music 101 class, I can’t help but reflect on what this year has meant to me and my development as a student, athlete, brother, friend, and person. I entered Wabash College not exactly sure what to expect; I knew it was going to be different, but I also knew that with change I wanted to keep an open mind that was ready to learn and grow. Freshman tutorial and especially enduring questions are two classes that have pushed my boundaries as a person, forcing me to question core beliefs and ideas that seemed previously engrained in my mind. Throughout
Currently, at Pasadena City College (PCC), I am a student who is part of the Honors program and is committed to his academics. The Honors program has enriched my learning experience through rigorous objectives and challenging assignments that undoubtedly have contributed to my knowledge, character, and drive. I have, for example, accomplished four honors English courses and done the honors assignments for each: from creating a short story to creating a poem that commemorates The Great War, I have passed the classes with A 's. However, it has been more than the grades, it is also knowledge and wisdom that I have gained in completing the classes. Moreover, at PCC, I have the opportunity to be the treasurer for the Psychology Club, which has taught me valuable lessons on how to run a club and work efficiently with team members.
In my search for the perfect college, I looked for diverse academic programs, a wide selection of activities outside the classroom, and ample future opportunities, all of which were met and exceeded by NYU. Located in a vibrant city filled with attractions for the newcomer, NYU offers a unique educational experience that combines classroom teachings and outdoor learning. An experience that would allow me to immerse myself into different cultures surrounding New York City, while also furthering my studies. The versatile nature of the campus shows me that this college is capable of pushing me to new limits, while also allowing me the opportunity to explore areas of interest I would have never considered. I feel as though NYU would be the perfect
"You sure you want to be a RA? I heard it 's hard." Those were the thoughts of many influencers around me suggesting that I should not even try to be a RA because of the rumors spread about the position. Being with my arrival at Mississippi State University an overwhelming sense of joy and excitement was rushing through my body because I met my first Resident Advisor in Critz Hall. Her name was Beth and she was kind, friendly, and inviting.
I learned about Colorado College when looking for potential schools to rank on my QuestBridge College Match application. When I was about eight years old while visiting family in New Mexico we went on a road trip to Colorado. I remember even at the age of eight loving it there. We only spent a few days in Colorado, but I remember wishing I could have stayed much, much longer. When I saw Colorado College as a QuestBridge partner school it caught my attention because of my fond memories of Colorado.

We are inspired by many different qualities we see in people throughout our daily lives; however, the people I most admire exemplify compassion, integrity, and determination. Compassion is a quality that I hold close to my heart, and not only do I intend on strengthening that quality in myself, but I also hope to inspire others to be more compassionate. I strive to be a person of integrity by consistently treating others with honesty and respect. I also dream of becoming someone who is passionate about expanding my view of the world and different cultures. I can see Syracuse University helping to shape me into this better version of myself.
