For a tradition as storied and fantasied of as Mardi Gras, an encyclopedic account of its origins and traditions has long been overdue. Ocean City may be a big local beach, but it isn’t the best one around. Virginia Beach is a beautiful place where tons of people come to vacation, live, and work today, and it all started back in 1607. Virginia Beach is a wonderful place, but this beautiful beach didn’t come without bloodshed. The Indian massacre of 1622 happened in the English colony of Virginia. The Powhatan lured the colonists of Jamestown acting like they wanted to sell them items and turned on them a murder them with tools and anything that could be used as weapons (Particularkey).
We decided to leave, but before that we wanted to take a picture at the sketch picture booth. The booth bench could only fit two people and there were 5 of us, yet we made it work. My sister, cousin and I squeezed onto the bench, while the kids sat on our laps. All of us were making funny faces, as the two year old looked confused. You could say the picture really depicted our day.
The bright colors of the autumn leaves and the brisk wind that hit against my face as I rolled the window of the car down to get a closer look at the sprawling campus I was passing as my father and I drove up a hill to the Skytop Parking Lot. Already, I was captivated by the environment and interested by the students walking around, discussing topics from their classes and different events going on that night on campus. I immediately felt comfortable and out of all the colleges I have visited, Syracuse is the one I can see myself starting the next chapter of my life at.
Little did we know that our picture was being taken, that picture means everything to me. Me, George, and Billy still talk about the horrors of that
My grandfather is a well known for his avid role in encouraging the conservation of Hawaiian land and natural resources. From a very young age, as in when I could swim, I spent many weekdays and nights cleaning and repairing the Captain Cook Monument. We used his double hull glass bottom canoe to travel around the bay looking for
Shama Laguerre The first time I heard about Palm Beach Atlantic University, was about a year ago. The excitement I had was unbearable, because I just knew that in my heart that this was the school for me. I decided to do my own research and I went online on the school‘s website and the information that I found greatly increased my interest in the university. I was born in a tiny Island called Haiti, I remember going to church as a little girl three times a week in Haiti.
John (me) and my daughter decided to go to the beach. My family wanted to take a picture. We seen a humongous statue. The Statue had a huge pale/bucket and we went under the bucket and posed for a picture.
We had a boat at the time and we used it to go on it for the Fourth of July. We launch our boat on Okauchee Lake. That lake is amazing. The sunset in the distance looks like a fire with a cheese curd in the middle. The little houses look like little dots in the distance.
This photograph captures history. To explain, when Altred Eisenstaedt originally took this picture, he was unaware of what an impression it would have on our country. How one depiction of a celebration could bring so many people together. To emphasize, for years reporters searched and analyzed the picture trying to unravel the identity of the “kissers.” Several men and woman came forward claiming to be the sailor and nurse from 1945, but none were a match.
I have always enjoyed exploring the world, but the adventure that always sticks out the most was my cruise to the tropical paradise of Bermuda. I have cruised to the Bahamas, as well as spent countless weeks of my lifetime in the Outer Banks. The cruise to Bermuda was only my second time out of the country, leaving from Baltimore, Maryland one Friday afternoon and arriving on the shores of the tropical island on Sunday afternoon. Waking up on a Saturday in the beginning of August and being able to look out the window and seeing water for as far as you can see is a one time thing and an experience like no other. The days spent traveling the open seas, gives you the chance to live life while leaving all of your baggage back on shore.
On the year of my fifteenth birthday, my mom gave me a camera for photography. I took pictures like an amateur at first, but within a few photo sessions my skills improved. One of my favorite pictures is the one I took of my mother while we were at Venice Beach. She was walking along the shore, as I walked right beside her, trying to position my camera in the best possible angle. AS the wind blew her hair past her shoulders, I stood still, focused my lens and pressed the button.

It was daunting indeed and I was confronted with the realities of what it requires to throw a great family reunion. After much scouting and speaking to several travel agencies, hotels and resorts, I came across silver sands Jamaica.
