Everything that Rises must Converge
A man living at home with his mom named Julian. He usually felt awkward to his racist mother and with her old fashion sense. When he sits next to a black man on their weekly ride to the Y, nothing happens except that his mother gets annoyed and feel uncomfortable. When new passenger came which are the cute little boy, Carver, and his mother, a not-so-happy-looking black woman, board on the bus. Julian’s mother gets irritated. Julian's mother wants to give Carver a nickel, but Julian points out that it might come off as a little insulting. As Julian predicted, Carver's mother takes offense. She smacks Julian's mother with both her fist and purse, knocking her down. After that incident, Mom's blood pressure has raised extremely. Her unable to walk, talk, and basically seems to be having a stroke. And her mother collapses, asks for her dead husband and her childhood nanny, and Julian runs off in tears, screaming for help.

Bailey wants to take his wife, baby, two kids, June Star and John Wesley to Florida but her mother refuse to go there because of dangerous criminal named The Misfit. No one in the family take her seriously. They hit the road and begin the trip from Georgia to Florida. The grandmother reminisces about the past and convinces Bailey to take a see an old house she remembers. The cat of the grandmother escapes causing the car to crash in to a ditch which they saw the Misfit pulls up with his cronies and the mother of Bailey recognizes him. The Misfit talks with the grandmother about his religious doubts. The Misfit shoots her and says “It had been somebody there to shoot her every minute of her life” she would have been a good woman.
