American Jezebel: The Uncommon Life of Anne Hutchinson, the Woman who Defied the Puritans is a biography of Anne Hutchinson written by Eve LaPlante who is a direct descendant of Hutchinson. The book follows her life and gives some insight into the lives of people she was surrounded by. As the book progresses, the reader can better understand who Hutchinson was. It begins with Hutchinson being summoned at her trial at the courthouse in Cambridge, Massachusetts for heresy and sedition.
Community in the dictionary means a group of people living in the same place or having a particular characteristic in common. Everyone belongs to a community or considers themselves a part of one, however communities tends to take away individualism. Anna Quindlen, author of “Commencement Speech at Mount Holyoke College”, spoke to the graduating class and delivered a speech on the effects of society on individuals. The purpose of this was to lead and guide the graduates into a happier life. Being true to self can only bring happiness, conforming to mold never designed to fit will only cause discomfort and unhappiness.
Throughout the course of the last year, the political climate around the citizens of the United States – as well others around the world who were affected – became exceedingly politically charged. The country and its people were faced with a deep and complicated partition. Directly derived from the 2016 United States presidential election, political messages had become common place throughout all forms of media. From television shows, music, and the most apparent being news outlets, the population was continuously exposed to political ideals of different groups, as well as debates against their own. Even so, there have been countless times when political messages are not as apparent or as direct.
Anna Quindlen’s essay, “The C Word in the Hallways,” is a very powerful essay that focuses on the mental health issues of teens and young adults. She builds her argument by using emotional appeals that cause the reader to understand her points and sympathize with her and the mentally challenged people. In the third paragraph, Quindlen uses specific examples of teens who committed crimes because of the mental health state they were in, and gains the reader's attention by stating, “So many have already been lost” (344). This makes the reader want to know who has been lost and what significant event caused this tragedy to occur. Tragedy is often thought to be synonymous with despair, confusion, and pain. When tragedy strikes, it brings heartache to the surrounding community and in the immediate aftermath of the attack, everyone is hurting. Unity over Europe have been difficult to maintain when outsider have fought to tear and bring this unity Americans have builded down. Clearly, with this unity terrorist or outsiders have not yet achieved their goals to such disgrace. Learning about the bravery America has had will help the minds of those who are dreadful due to such tragic attack. The year is now two thousand seventeen, and the United States seems to be divided once more. People continue to fight for and be denied equal rights, violence is a part of everyday life, and lines are being drawn down the middle of our nation. Riots, discrimination, brutality; certainly this cannot be the future our founding fathers once dreamed of. The future that millions of men and women have sacrificed their lives to build. Our integrity is fading alongside our unity.

I was in an unfortunate situation once in my career when my boss then, gathered some of her loyal members together and instructs them to help look for things that could be used to get me remove from the job. In a matter of days, you should have seen how many things these people came up with. They put these negative things together by lying and forcing junior workers to say things that were not true.
