Along with sports, I believe we witness the labour divide in other organizations as well. For example, in most offices- the doctor commonly a male, with a female secretary. In the business world, the CEO is most often a male, while the female is usually his assistant. I would like to argue that this segregation dates back to the 20th century, in which women were most often employed as servants, dressmakers, housekeeps, launders, etc., working to assist other people.
