Due to advanced technologies, people can go to YouTube and just type the phrases "Police Brutality" and they will be able to witness the rare force used by some police officers where the force is unnecessary. Many people often times view the bigger picture rather than the details associated with the image. For instance in the video,” Behind the Video of Eric Garner’s Deadly Confrontation With New York Police” the author, Ramsey Orta, well-known for recording the fatal incident of Eric Garner on July 17, in Staten Island, NY, mainly focused on how Garner was treated on his point of perspective rather than the reasons of why the incident have occurred. Orta used emotional appeal to make his argument more effective. Orta was able to create a sense of himself as credible, Orta was an expert of the incident not only because he witnessed the incident first hand but because Orta knew Garner personally. Orta's purpose is to make his audience more aware of the cruel reality of police brutality in order to make his audience understand the issue in a deeper level. One thing that Orta didn’t mention however was the fact that Garner refused to comply with the police and this was what lead to Daniel Pantaleo, the officer who used a chokehold on Garner, to subdue Garner. Reverent Maupin during his training with the MCSO underwent three different scenarios, one of which is similar to Eric Garner's case. When Reverent Maupin stopped a possible suspect of burglary, Reverent Maupin needed to search the suspect but the suspect gave him hard time.
