I have read the book If You're Reading This by Trent Reedy. This book would make a great class novel for many reasons. It appeals to boys with the sports and military talk. It also appeals to girls for the love and romance talk that Mike has towards the girl he likes, Isma. This book has a lot of suspense and you just have to read more. I was recommended this book by my brother and i recommend it to most other people. First, the main character in this book is Mike, he lives with his mom and his sister. He used to play football but now his mom don't let him. He gets letters from his dad who has been dead for years. In the letter it stated a goal: “Go for it! Whatever it is you've been wanting to do, give it your best. I know you can do it.” …show more content…
Mike is afraid to ask Isma out because he don't know if she likes him. Then you see problems in the relationship that the average couple does not face. You see the ways that they overcome these issues. How they stay together and love each other.
Next, the book is very suspenseful. Every great book reader loves suspense and this book has a lot of suspense. At the end of every chapter it leaves you with a point to ponder, what is going to happen next? You don't know when Mike is going to get the next letter from his dead father, you don't know what the letter is going to say. You don't know what the next goal, or mission will be. You don't know if he’ll ever find out who is sending the letters. The book leaves you with so many questions each chapter that you must continue reading to find the answers.
On the other hand, it does appeal more to the guys than it does to the female audience. It has many things that would entertain a guy, than a girl. It talks about the football and military, that most girls aren’t into. Although, it is more to the guy audience, the girls will love this book too. Many girls love suspenseful romance, which this book
