The most recent book that I have read was Katie Friedman Gives Up Texting and Lives to Tell About It by Tommy Greenwald. The basic gist of this intriguing book is that Katie Friedman is addicted to her phone and consumes most of her time using technology. One day, something bad happens and that is when she accidentally sent a wrong text to her boyfriend, Nareem, instead to her other friend, Charlie Joe. Later on, when Katie’s favorite musician, Plain Jane, comes to her hometown, Jane proposes a challenge to her. If Katie can convince 10 friends to join her in giving up their phones for one week, the group will be invited to Jane’s concert, where she will play Katie’s song. The one most important thing I agreed was that us humans are spending too much on our electronics 24/7 than communicating with our peers face to face. Even though I spend on my phone 24/7, I still agree with what the author is saying about how we should communicate face to face with our friends, teachers, family etc. Most of the time our electronics are controlling our lives. For example, if you accidentally sent a text to the wrong person and that text was about that person, something terrible could happen and you could also have serious consequences. The theme of the book that the author is trying to deliver is that there is a way better communication beyond our electronics. This means that there can be an improved way to talk with our friends and family which is face to face than just texting them on your electronic
