At first he finds the internet as a wonderful place for writers and such for the ability to search for certain material quickly. Yet after some time he finds that he is unable to read long articles without simply skimming them. He discusses this with his friends his predicament, and finds his friends and such have the same predicament.

Harper Lee uses social inequality to show how big of a deal it was back in the 1930s, she shows that it affected African American lives in a negative way. Through the town of Maycomb, social inequality is shown through Tom Robinson's case. Therefore Tom Robinson didn’t get a fair trial.
This could be good or it could be bad, because with this information also comes disinformation. Ultimately, I believe that technology is making people both more stupid due to our reliance on it; and at the same time not so stupid due to the wealth of information it provides. Article B makes the point that Google is making people stupid because it makes them more reliant on technology. This is indicated when it states “That's the problem with Google- and with the Internet in general, When we use our computers and our cell-phones all the time, we’re always distracted.”
In Is Google Making Us Stupid? Carr creates a strong argument for the negative effects increasing technology has on society as a whole. I completely agree with his argument however I would word it differently. Its not making us stupid however its making us lazy or think in a less intelligent way. Instead of going to the library and picking up a book for research you can google it.

The internet has given us somewhere to find anything we need at godlike speed. “A few Google searches, some quick clicks on hyperlinks, and I’ve got the telltale fact or pithy quote I was after.”

Carr suggests that computers and other forms of technology are becoming of greater value than humans. Although Turkle agrees with many of Carr’s beliefs, Turkle focuses more on the aspect of how society is evolving with technology. Pinker illustrates the benefits people gain from using the worlds quickly increasing technology and media. Pinker suggests that today’s technology such as, PowerPoint, Google, and other forms of social media can actually enhance and bring more intelligence to the mind, instead of being detrimental. Critics believe that the many different forms of media can lower intelligence. However, Pinker declares that scientists are using all of this technology everyone else is using, and are still discovering new things.

Nicholas Carr is a writer who focus on technology, business, and culture (Carr, Hal and Me ). Carr enjoy reading books, and researching information he also noticed that while he was reading a book his mind would drift after two pages (Carr, Hal and Me). Carr believes that the internet is a distraction, and people just go to the internet for everything.
