He compares by using several generic traits a thirteen year old boy would have, such as the habit of blaming things on others, the tendency to exaggerate, a mask of insecurity, putting others down, laziness, narcissism, and lack of empathy. The author makes a joke, saying that he's now just insulted thirteen year old boys by comparing them to the man that may become our next president. Even though Trump shares some qualities of a middle-school boy, his policies are brutal and dangerous. Kristof creates another shift when talking about commercials against Trump. One of the most effective commercials is when he makes fun of a disabled journalist. As a child, most are taught that it's rude and disrespectful to mock disabled people, so when an adult encourages it, it's shocking and upsetting. Another powerful commercial is when the little girls are starring in the mirror at their “flawed” bodies, while Trump is heard mocking women for their bodies in the background. Considering many people look up to the president this makes you question whether you want someone like this in
