In chapter 5 of The Blue Sweater, which was written by Jacqueline Novogratz, Jacqueline was a good listener who drew my attention. Stargirl, a novel by Jerry Spinelli, is a remarkable book that I could not put down. The author does a marvelous job of keeping the story interesting and entertaining to read by adding unexpected twists to the story, like when Stargirl became normal and then changed back to Stargirl again. While I was reading, I felt like I was in the story, like I was a student at Mica High School in Arizona. This is all thanks to the author’s stunning descriptions that included figurative language and superior word choice, like on page 85 when the author wrote, “In school I was a yellow balloon, smiling and lazy, floating above the classrooms.” This novel is not like anything I have ever read before.

Most think of "story" and remember the characters. Usually, a book is remembered by the characters who are in it and their individual vindications. Contrary to popular belief, individual characters are not what make a story memorable, or even a story at all. It is the the setting that molds the story in it's entirety. The setting is by far the most underrated yet essential part of a story.
