According to the article, countless students are not being educated as well as they should be. The wrong assessment can ineffectively evaluate the quality of strong teachers, as a result he or she becomes penalized. Educational testing has been a concern to numerous parents in the United States. For example, on Long Island, N.Y. parents have opt-outed from these standardized testings. It is my belief; the article creates a remarkable point as to children being harmed from these standardized testings. Each child is unique, and he or she might need a few adjustments to their education. Nevertheless, there will always be an individual, who will not agree with the educational requirements and protest. It is vital to remember, life is not black or white. Therefore, the educational system must not treat it as such. On the other hand, the educational assessments are important to evaluate a student’s progress. Without it, the educational system cannot be held accountable if a student needs an intervention or not. As someone who is not the best test taker, I can see the reasoning behind opting out.
