In The Jungle Upton Sinclair tried to expose how cruel slaughterhouses were to the animals and how poor the quality of the meat was. Sinclair investigated a slaughter house with the eye witness of two immigrants. The slaughterhouse they went to was willing to and made a great effort of showing visitors their facility. The immigrant Jokubas had a suspicion that the slaughterhouse would limit what the visitors see and tries to make the slaughterhouse seem ethical. The slaughterhouse has to filter what they showed to visitors, especially after when Sinclair tried to expose them. While in the slaughterhouse it was observed that that method of bringing the hogs to be slaughtered was to hook them on the leg with a hook and carry them to be killed. The …show more content…
With women voting Colorado became a better state it was more progressive, real changes were being made. Women voting did not hurt them at all it only improved Colorado. Everyone should be able to vote, and defend themselves in government. In the next document Mrs. Gilbert E. Jones claims that women do not need the right to vote. She claims that women do not want the right to vote. She claims that women who pursue higher leveled jobs are hurting their families by not being there for them. Women can decide whether to vote or not and what to do with their own lives. They cannot be limited by others. Then she claims that in states that allow women to vote nothing gets done that women were fighting for. She believes that women should not have the right to vote because some women have not filled her expectation in the polls. Mrs. Jones is very stagnant she is not progressive. She does not want change. Senator Owens claimed that women voting is only doing well so all women should being able to express themselves in the ballot. Mrs. Jones claims that women have not done enough in the ballot so no more women should be able to vote. I believe that Senator Owens has the upper hand in this debate of whether women should be able
