The family composition consists of 13 year old Jason Yellowbird, his mother, Carol Yellowstone and father, Stone Yellowstone. On Sept 11th the students of the Rubin Pollack Education Center at Sullivan County BOCES had the privilege of meeting author and Sullivan BOCES alumni Edward Coon. Edward Coon is passionate about inspiring others with his words and knowledge. For more than 20 years, he has given help to others and continues to do so in his everyday life. Mr. Coon felt that coming back to where it all started would give him the opportunity to possibly change the lives of students the way his life was changed when he was enrolled at BOCES. The session started with Mr. Coon paying tribute to his mentor as he talked about how things turned around for him.

As Mckenna, Emily, and I arrived late at the Long Beach Board Meeting, I was instantly transported to my senior year of high school. As ASB Vice President, I attended the Alhambra Board Meetings, and just like with Long Beach, there’s always traffic in Southern California. When I stepped into the board meeting, I was surprised, and relieved, to see that the entire meeting was being filmed; Alhambra Board Meetings were never filmed. The implementation of technology in Long Beach speak towards the city’s funding, transparency, and community interest.
Over the past year, working closely with local leaders in Mexico, Hands and Feet Ministries has helped care for the children and families at Nava School. Currently, we are praying for continued involvement from the community surrounding the small Christian school. God has already started to work on the hearts of the students parents. Every parent that has a child at Nava School recently signed a covenant stating that, among other things, they will be involved in their child 's education and provide a safe and wholesome environment for their children at home. After this covenant was made, the school 's parent teacher association doubled in size.
