The Overlooked Villains of the Holocaust Everyone has a choice, and choices can result in many different outcomes. Hitler wasn’t the only one in the wrong for the Holocaust. Many people believe Hitler was the sole reason for the Holocaust, but other groups were involved in the devastating part of history called the Holocaust. The text talks about how the Nazis, besides Hitler, forced many Jews to leave the country and the cruelty they forced the Jews to experience (How did the Nazis). In the article “The German Military,” they mention, “...they carried out the systematic mass murder of 1.5-2 million Jewish men, women, and children throughout the East. The army was fully aware of these units.” This confirms that the military was aware of these deaths and was okay with it. Another important role was the amount of innocent people killed. The article “How Did the Nazis” shows an example of how the units took part in the murders of many people. “SS and police units arrested or killed tens of thousands of wealthy landowners, clergymen, and educated professionals (both ethnic Poles and Jews).” This text clearly explains how the German army was a part of the murders of even thousands of people, and those people had a choice of choosing murder or to stand up, especially with their great numbers, and they followed Hitler, which made them a vital role in the Holocaust. Having examined the evidence, it is very clear how the German military took a great part in being responsible for the Holocaust besides Hitler.
