I am writing to apply for the position of Outreach and Summer Programs Coordinator. In the summer of 2015, I had a chance to manage iD Tech Camp’s first ever camp at the University of North Florida. iD Tech is a national STEM summer camp for 7 – 18 year olds where students learn how to make video games and/or programming. By the time that week arrived, the camp was full thanks to the marketing techniques of my staff and iD Tech headquarters. We were able to meet the 95% capacity goal for the summer. During the summer, I establish relationships with housing, dining, and other campus departments to ensure my students had clean rooms, meals, and a place to play. I maintained a budget which included different funds for weekend meals, daily snacks, daily activities, and nightly activities. I made sure iD Tech logo supplies were ordered from our headquarters in California to arrive on time to distribute to the campers. Throughout the summer I dealt with issues such as staff receiving parking tickets, teachers lacking knowledge on effective classroom management, and campers/staff unable to use their dorm keys.
