Some people that are against the potential DNP say that if this new requirement is implemented it will enable them from “practicing in policy issues, decision making on the college/university level, budget distributions and other inquires that focuses on the overall growth, development, and actually sustainability of nursing as a discipline in higher education” (p. 105) Contrary to this there are also some advantages to this due to the author suggesting that the DNP practice degree may increase knowledge and make the practice of nursing better, the leadership role and also improving in patient outcomes. Susan Apold in this article she makes its relevance to my research in its importance by suggesting that the professionals in nursing support and openly discuss the questions that are unanswered.
