The Arizona Department of Transportation is a multi-modal transportation agency who is funded by the individuals who purchase fuel, drive, or own private and commercial vehicles, or use transportation services. The mission of the Arizona Department of Transportation is to provide a safe, efficient, and cost-effective transportation system. The department has goals that align with advancing and protecting the transportation systems that are impacted directly by employees, the public, and the department’s stakeholders. The private network is connected to the public internet so that the stakeholders may communicate between the department and the divisions within the department. Another increased technological measure is the freeway and road signs. The technology signs are installed along roadsides and overhead the freeways. The signs are intended to promote safety by delivering important safety message and to assist with increasing traffic flow. Technology changes refer to how technology is frequently changing with the agency's computer systems that have eliminated the need for many paper applications within the different programs and services. In addition to fuel prices fluctuating and as the environmental changes occur so more individuals are using transportation services. Even with the electronic freeway signs and the messages of safety that get across to drivers mainly to those groups that have texted and drove or with the safety of seatbelts. This strategy has helped get those safety messages across to the public by social media outlets. The messages that get out there and are noticed do encourage drives to have conversations via these social media outlets at the same time promoting
