Synthesis Essay: The Impact Of Global Warming

1087 Words5 Pages

Polar bears, seals, and penguins are losing their homes because of rising temperatures and sea levels. Ice glaciers and ice caps, which are homes to these animals and even human civilization, have been tremendously melting throughout the past years due to global warming (the term scientists are using to indicate the rise in average temperature). Some scientist believe that global warming is a hoax so that scientists can purposely publicize it as a problem on the planet for manipulation to grab the attention of rich political figures, but it is real because of the exponential rise in CO2 levels and sea levels.
Solar radiation, which is heat and energy directly from the sun, keeps the Earth from freezing and plays a part in helping plants produce …show more content…

CO2 has been continuously releasing into the atmosphere in many ways, provoking global warming. If you have heard or seen the idea of the greenhouse effect, that is, the idea of CO2 trapping solar radiation into the atmosphere. CO2 gets into the atmosphere in various, unintentional ways ranging from humans to animals and to natural disasters. In Christine Diaz’s article, “Carbon Dioxide,” she states that “....all the world's nations combined pumped nearly 38.2 billion tons of carbon dioxide into the air from the burning of fossil fuels such as coal and oil….” What Diaz means is that in one single year, CO2 reached its maximum range of emissions into the atmosphere, and they got the number, “...38.2 billion…” from the rising the CO2 production per second which is 2.4 million pounds per second. 38.2 billion pounds in one year is a controversial profusion for the health of nature and different communities in this small world. To be clear, the sun is not bad, it cannot control the solar radiation it gives this planet, and it certainly does not produce the 38.2 billion pounds of the heat trapping gas that traps it. Because in another article, “7 Billion Carbon Sinks,” by Brian Palmer, states that “Human beings do exhale almost 3 billion tons of carbon dioxide annually….” (Palmer). May not be a significant contribute to the 38.2 …show more content…

But they do not have the proper research that goes against the CO2 trapping solar radiation into the atmosphere, or rise in sea levels. For example, an article written by Sandra Marks states that, “Polar bear researchers knew the S Beaufort population continued to increase up to 2012,” Marks also states, “In fact, a US Fish and Wildlife Service (USFWS) fall survey of Southern Beaufort polar bears in 2012 found numbers were higher than they had been in a decade.” (Marks). Basically insisting that the idea of polar bears that are dying because of global warming is a misconception. But it is extremely unreliable because it does not contain any statistical numbers backing up their claim, basically Marks just wants the reader to take her word that there actually is an increase in polar bear population. But in the article “Polar Bear Numbers Plummeting in Alaska, Canada—What About the Rest?” by Linda Qiu, she states, “A large population of polar bears in Alaska and Canada has decreased by 60 percent….” (Qiu). Immediate shut down on the conspiracy of global warming being a hoax, because it contains reliable statistical numbers and
