Some people’s viewpoints on climate change are that it is a myth, a cycle that earth is going through, or even saying that it is good for the environment. Essentially, all that these people are doing is hiding under a rock from what the truth holds. There is an immense amount of information about how global warming is happening and how it is negatively affecting us, yet some people are just too ignorant or do not want to be persuaded even if the facts are right in front of them. Obviously, there are some articles pronouncing reasons that counter this theory. These articles seem to pack all the possible cons, some rational, but an amount that are irrational. With global warming melting ice caps, “ice-dependent mammals such as walruses and polar bears struggle to survive (“Climate”).” Any arctic creature will receive a backlash from these melting caps. The animals will be forced to rapidly change their lifestyle like a polar bear being required to swim more for food. Sadly for the polar bear, “In 2008, the polar bear became the first animal to be added to the Endangered Species Act list of threatened species because of global warming (“Climate”).” However, the polar bears are just a sliver compared to all the animals in danger. The heating of the ocean makes it much more acidic with its contents. One of the most common destructions in the oceans are the coral reefs and “As coral reefs are home to many other species such as fish, their collapse would disrupt the entire ecosystem (“Climate”).” Coral reef deaths are the best example of how global warming can cause many things to be affected.
