BDO USA, was founded as Seidman and Seidman in New York City in 1910 by three brothers. Currently in the United States, BDO has 59 branches reaching out across 26 states. BDO benefits from using a vertical organization structure starting with the CEO Wayne Berson, than working down the chain of command. During this time BDO International was created which has now accumulated to 1,118 Member Firms offices in 135 countries. Working out of the Akron, Ohio office, there are upwards of 100 BDO employees working throughout our two buildings. My department of Compensation and Benefits follows the organizational structure of BDO in being vertical which the following shows the chain of command: Intern/ Associates Senior Associate Manager Senior Manager Senior Director. With the projects I receive I either report my work to the person who I have received the project from or my advisor the Manager. With working out of Akron which is BDOs headquarters in regards to 5500 work we receive much of our work from the State of Ohio as well as the surrounding states. Some of the major customers for BDO are Worthington Christian Village, Emergency Services, and Boeing. With that said throughout my time with BDO I have done over 250 5558 extensions and the Compensation and Benefits team recently completed close to 200 Form 5500s by the October 15
