The food truck industry is young, but growing at a strong rate. This industry is very competitive and continues to grow because more and more people are becoming health conscious and switching to a healthier lifestyle, which means they are watching what they eating and making better choices, even when on the go. “This idea of using food to manage health may, in part, help explain growing consumer interest in fresh, natural and organic products” (Gagliardi, 2015). More and more food trucks are making their products and so-called “fast food” healthy now due to the changing trends and diets emerging, which is why it is even becoming a more competitive industry today. “The food truck industry has tapped into powerful consumer trends, especially the desire for fresh, local, quality food served quickly and conveniently” (Mobile-Cuisine, LLC, 2017). If more food trucks enter the industry it increases the competition, especially a health-conscious food truck. If my competitors have lowered their prices even more than it can hurt me, especially where my business's prices are a little pricier, to begin with. Another threat could be changes in legislation, licensing requirements, consumer trends, local farms go out of business, or the price of gas even increases. All of these threats affect my business and could have the potential to put me out of business. Even if the diet trends changed and took a 360 turn I could be out of business that day. These threats can be big and get in the way of Sam’s Fresh and Fit Food Truck’s mission. Overall, this business idea’s industry is strong and there are many opportunities for this business idea and even with all these threats that may come down the road, I know I have the determination to make it through and make Sam’s Fresh and Fit Food Truck
