Blaxploitation genre inspired the whole generation of the directors and Hip-Hip artists in America. Directors like Quentin Tarantino, Spike Lee, John Singleton used references from Blaxploitation themes often. An actress Pam Grier was an icon of Blaxploitation era. Tarantino calls her Queen of all women. It's important to see while counting Blaxploitation as an influence on Tarantinos movies that it was the genre considered as of low art! Those films were not considered as reputable films in the society. So when we see Tarantinos role as an appropriator, it's interesting to see that he borrows elements from movies which were considered as low art and converts them into high art by the method of re-sampling. Though Tarantino is borrowing from the Blaxploitation movies as a white person, he is not actually exploiting the stereotypes used in those movies like that era. After the massive success of 'Pulp Fiction' Tarantino had the liberty to literally make any movie of any scale. Rather he chose to make a movie with 70's star of Blaxploitation era Pam Grier. 'Foxy Brown' Pam Grier's film is kind of an inspiration for Jackie Brown. Tarantino adapted the screenplay from the novel 'Rum Punch' and changed the protagonist from white to black as well as renamed her from Burke to Brown. Pam Grier is shown in lot of exploitation movies as a victim at the beginning who gets her vengeance towards the end. This theme resonates in lot of Tarantino's films like 'Jackie Brown', 'Kill Bill Vol 1 and 2', 'Death Proof' and 'Inglorious Bastards.' In all the above films a women who is a victim of the circumstances gets the vengeance she deserves in the best
