Having began my career at Target in early 2013, I am excited and enthusiastic to be given the opportunity to progress my career in the business. Having worked in the department manager role for the last several months I have already spent the time learning the expectations and functions of the role, as well as observing my team and learning their strengths and areas of opportunity. From this I have began to implement coaching to my team and changes into the departments. I am excited to present to you my plans for the business in the next 30, 60, 90 days. Strategy I believe the most effect way to reach our profit goal is through providing the easiest customer experience, all the other points of the strategy interweaving to allow for this. To provide the easiest customer experience, one of the first requirements is to have the right people in the right roles. It is crucial that our current team have passion and positive attitudes in their roles, and that they engage our customers with a positive experience. A wide range of tasks faced in retail can be better accomplished together, which is why teamwork plays such a vital roll in our workplace. It brings together the different strengths of several individuals to meet the needs of the business. Having all team members work together, they create a cohesive, professional and friendly atmosphere that not only achieves more but puts customers more at ease when shopping. Another key value is respect. Where respect is found in the workplace, a more engaged and productive team is the outcomes.
