Thomas Jefferson was a smart man. He was the author of the Declaration of Independence and also had input into the writing of the Constitution. He once said, "The Constitution belongs to the living and not to the dead." Jefferson said this because the world is ever changing. There are always improvements made everything and more people are born thus more opinions are formed.
Thomas Jefferson had a greater impact on American history than George Washington. Although not as well known as Washington, Jefferson founded America behind the scene especially using his words. Jefferson’s contributions from the Colonial era through presidential terms had a major effect on America. One of Jefferson’s major and early contributions during the Revolutionary War was writing the Declaration of Independence. This document explained in writing for their reasons of separation from Great Britain.

I think Thomas Jefferson should not have a school built for him. Thomas Jefferson was a slave owner and would not be a good role model to the kids that do go to his school. And he took credit for everything his slaves did for him. Thomas Jefferson was also a human trafficker and has done many bad things in his life before he died. Thomas Jefferson also made his slaves build his home so if he did have his own school it would be an act of forced labor against slaves just for other people that are not slaves to go to school.
Thomas Jefferson was a man with many talents and gifts. By some opinions he is one of the greatest people to walk American soil and become President. He did many great things in life, things that impacted people’s lives and way of thinking greatly. This research project is going to show just a few of his many accomplishments that he achieved as President.
1. Thomas Jefferson’s most important achievement was being the author of the Declaration of Independence in 1776. This was an important achievement because Jefferson was personally appointed to Congress to right the Constitution. This shows Congress had faith in Jefferson to right the document that declared independence from Great Britain. Also, Jefferson wrote the Declaration in only 17 days.
Jefferson was a man of personal growth and believed in social change. His previous family history set the way for him to become a delegate, which ultimately led to him going as far as paving America’s path into the Revolution. He helped set the country’s new standards by bringing in ideas previously thought to be radical. His political disposition stemmed from his interaction in the American Revolution, which evolved his previous ideals from basic concept into complex thoughts he believed he should act on. Jefferson’s unwavering commitment to equality was also apparent during the drafting of the Declaration of Independence.

Thomas Jefferson was a man that made his reputation as a supporter of the American Independence. He was thought very highly off for the many things he wrote and wanted to achieve that he was appointed to write the first draft of the Declaration of Independence. In just about 3 weeks Thomas Jefferson drafted the Declaration of Independence, it was in this that he wrote about human rights and that everyone was created equally. But as I was watching the PBS Documentary about this famous figure, it was not cold facts that attracted my interest the most. I was rather thinking how diversified Thomas Jefferson was and how many contradictions we are able to enumerate about his personality. In the documentary, America’s third president is, in a sense, presented as a hero, a man who achieved countless things in his life.
However, Jefferson had huge accomplishments in his life. His bravery was marked by an optimism that other Founding Fathers lacked. What inspires people when they look back on Thomas Jefferson’s life is that the path he chose to follow was not necessarily the easiest one, but the one that he knew was paved with beliefs and morals he held close to his heart. He believed in liberty for all and freedom to love his God. He believed the citizens came first and the government is there to protect the people (Mummery).

In 1760 he studied at the College of William and Mary located in Williamsburg, Virginia ("Thomas Jefferson.” ) where his main focus was law. Soon after graduating he was chosen to draft the Declaration of Independence and became one of the founding fathers of the United States.
