A quality is a distinctive attribute or characteristic possessed by someone or something. Teachers can possess many qualities, however, the good teachers have the best in common. I believe good teachers should possess at least these three qualities: having grit, passionate, and inspirational. Good teachers should possess grit because when times get tough during teaching, teachers should rise upon the problem. Whether it is a student misbehaving, conflict among colleagues, an overload of papers that need to be graded, or simply not having a good day, a good teacher will overcome these obstacles. A good teacher will push through these obstacles because he/she knows it is a part of their job. Pushing through these challenges will make the teacher even more resilient. Having grit will get a teacher through any day because they know they can’t be stopped by anyone or anything. If a good teacher is not passionate about children and teaching, then they shouldn’t be a teacher. Deciding on what I wanted to major in, people always told me to do what I love. A good teacher should possess inspiration because the students will believe in lifelong learning and the excitement about what learning can bring. The students will notice how the teacher is inspirational not only about learning but how he/she teaches. They will see their grittiness and their passion for teaching, and hopefully inspire to one day possess those qualities as well. Teachers are people who students see for 180 days out of the year and for thirteen years of their lives. Teachers are going to inspire students one way or another for the best. A good teacher should want a student to remember them for making an inspirational impact on their life when growing
