Law enforcement has to keep up with so many innovations and technologies to ensure that they are best serving and protecting the people, in addition to staying informed on technologies that make it easier for criminals to commit crimes. Ensuring that law enforcement officers are trained to use technology in their favor is very important as it will directly impact success in solving cases and crime prevention. Officers that attend university prior to joining the force learn about law enforcement technology systems in classes and get information about what they do and what they are. Law enforcement agencies are realizing that more and more as the divide has grown rapidly since the controversial events that occurred during the pandemic. Recognizing and acknowledging the variations in cultures, improving culture understanding, and educating police on cultural differences can improve U.S. policing efforts. Education is going to be the most important factor in bridging the gap with the diverse community. Police from all cultures must understand how certain events, the history of policing, previous police encounters, and criminal history play a role in how different groups react to interacting with law enforcement. Significant history and scenarios should be taught to officers so that although something may be unfamiliar to them, they can understand why a civilian reacts or responds a certain way. There are a lot of ways police can work to build trust in diverse communities. Some of the officials' ways have been through approval of proposed bills or creation of groups to focus on that specific topic. For example, President Barack Obama established a task force on 21st century policing to identify “the best means to provide an effective partnership between law enforcement and local communities that reduces crime and increases trust.” Indeed, voluntary efforts by law enforcement employers are an equally, if not more, important way to advance diversity and further equal employment opportunity. Participation in the National Use of Force Data Collection effort will help law enforcement, elected officials, and community members better identify and understand the totality of incidents, trends associated with use-of-force incidents, and other outlying factors that have caused the mistrust in the community and diminished
