The Affect of Technology on Its Users Over the past years, society has placed technology on an important pedestal. Young children receive cell phones at younger and younger ages, newer and better phones come out every year, and people find themselves captivated by engrossing apps and other virtual games. Amidst this new boom of technology, however, many people find a new rift in their life- loneliness. Many find it easier to text instead of call or meet their friends, they constantly record or photograph their life instead of actually living it, and hundreds have lost their appreciation of reading. While technology has provided amazing ways to connect with people, enrich one’s education, and help the less fortunate, technology has also deprived younger generations of certain experiences and left many feeling more alone than before. While this seems true, amazingly popular games soon die away. Hundreds of people, many suffering from the loneliness caused by technology, soon started communicating more with others and reaping the benefits of exercise after downloading Pokemon GO. However, the craze of Pokemon GO lasted only several months before most forgot it. Those who had gained from the effects of the game soon returned to their normal state of isolation. The issue with games and apps lies in their quick departure from popularity. For a few months the public rages over the game, but just as quickly as the game or app gained attention, it looses it.
