Technological advances are noticed in a lot of different jobs in today’s society. We are constantly looking forward to the next gadget or technological advancement that could help make our life easier in our everyday life as well as in the work environment. One job that has been influence by a technological advance would be the healthcare system and surgeons in particular. Today there are many different robot assisted device that help the surgeon be more efficient when performing a certain type of surgery. Whether it be mobile learning, emailing, or use of the internet all of these technological advances play a part in helping the education industry grow and become more efficient for teachers and students (Pal, 2010). By the internet becoming readily available for many people, allowed for schools to offer classes online and helped the student gain access to valuable information that could help expand his/ her knowledge in a certain topic. Also, the communication via email from student to teacher has allowed for a quicker response time and a way for the conversations to take place at any time. These advances have helped a number of students to earn a degree while working full time, helped the communication between a teacher and student more efficient, and helped both the student and teacher expand his/ her knowledge base because the internet is so readily available and assessable in today’s society. Prior to these changes in technology, students were not given the opportunity to take classes online and it was nearly impossible to a student to work full time and attend classes full time to earn a degree. Also, the student and teachers had to spend numerous hours going through magazines and books to obtain research to help him/ her answer their assignments, where today we utilize the internet for quick results.
