Ted Williams had this love for hitting and baseball, but hitting was an art, a form of science that he just could not ignore in his sixty years of playing baseball. Williams took hitting so seriously that, even in the beginning of his career he would practice his swings in-between pitches. Williams had a bit of a cocky personality,and he believed that he should not only be recognized as a baseball player, but he wanted to be seen as “The Greatest Hitter of All Time.” Ted Williams was one of the greatest baseball hitters of all time, who was committed to perfecting his baseball skill and making sure he could serve our country.

Ted Williams had a love for the art of hitting, there was something about hitting that just made him click, so much that he wrote a book called The Science of Hitting. All of Ted’s personal preferences on hitting are in this entire book and the ways you can rotate your body when you’re “At-Bat” to help you perfect your hitting to your hearts desires. Not only was Ted Williams into hitting, but he was a Fishing Hall of Famer. Ted Williams was very great at both hitting and fishing, so great that he could be inducted into both, and the plus side of it is how his fishing skills rivaled his hitting skills, so people can’t say that he only focuses on one thing in life. Ted Williams has demonstrated the many ways in which a wonderful baseball player and hitter can be so arrogant when on the field and out on the streets. Ted Williams did have soft spots, when it came to becoming a hero for our country and on behalf of the Jimmy Fund.
The Jimmy Fund is a children’s cancer foundation in which Ted Williams would go see children battling cancer at bedside, and pay them a visit. Many times Ted Williams was praised for his contributions to the Jimmy Fund, but that made Ted Williams feel uncomfortable, because he was one of the few athletes whose great actions were put into the record book
