In Barbara Ehrenreich’s article, “Your Local News”, her ideas about outsourcing help the reader understand Fareed Zakaria’s thesis that we are living through a power shift called “The Rise of The Rest” by explaining that America is not declining but is helping everyone else rise above. These authors come together to further understanding of the shift of power that has occurred due to outsourcing, putting America in the backseat of progression, but not out of the race. Ehrenreich introduces his ideas by explaining that “in the eighties, US companies began outsourcing the manufacturing of everything from garments to steel…”, but by the nineties, “back office and call center jobs migrated to India” (609). This helps the readers understand Zakaria when he he tells his readers that “for the first time ever, we are witnessing genuinely global growth.”

In the editorial by Ron Judd titled “Why returning grizzlies to the North Cascades is the right thing to do” found on the Seattle Times’ website, Mr. Rudd states his case for the reintroduction of Grizzly bears into the North Cascade Mountains of Washington State. He makes the argument that fatal interactions between hikers and bears are not a valid argument against reintroduction because the rarity of these encounters and the rarity of aggressive bears. He also cites some of his personal experiences encountering these animals and both his own and their reaction. Mr. Rudd uses this information to paint a picture that the bears are not as dangerous as commonly believed, using as an example the presence of grizzly bears in Yellowstone National Park which sees many more visitors than the North Cascades. Another point that Rudd discusses is his belief that bears are an important part of the wilderness experience, he shares his feelings after one of those encounters: “With senses heightened off the charts, it was as if I had stopped observing the natural world, and for the first time, stepped all the way into it.

When someone who commits a crime is determined to be mentally inadequate to be held accountable for the crimes they have committed, there are things that we do to charge them, but in a lesser way because of their mental capacity. Which begs the question, why are we allowing children to be sentenced to life, when their brains aren’t fully developed? When a child commits a crime we look over that, and stop seeing them as children. We shouldn’t sentence children to a life in prison when their brains are not only underdeveloped, but also missing a good portion of gray matter.
Teenagers vs. Toddlers When one thinks about toddlers and teengers they would not think that they would be anything alike. Teens are more “mature” than little kids. However, teens and little more alike than they are different. While teens are older and are able to do a lot more than smaller children they both have many mood swings and a thirst for independence.
We made drugs illegal, people still do them so what do you think making guns illegal is gonna do? All we hear about these days is what gonna stop criminals from having guns in their hands. Gun control. There's not as much as you think that we can do stop them from having access to guns. Even if we make it illegal to have possession of them, If not all of them then one of them will still have possession of one.
Teenagers and toddlers both require responsibility when taken care of and they both can act immature. Teenagers can be reckless and make wrong choices and so can toddlers. These two humans may have similar traits but they’re different. A teenager and toddler have their similarities and differences but it 's harder to deal with a toddler than a teenager. Teenagers and toddlers are similar in many ways.
Ismael Deharo P.4 Benchmark C Response Parent’s want everything for their child. They would do anything to protect them. I believe that’s why parents make rules and limits for almost everything. One really big topic that should concern a parent and make rules for their child when they start dating as a teen. Should parents even have rules for dating?
The best route to follow can be the one that is not in the map. Being a teenager is not easy. Being a mom is not easy. On the one hand, being a teenager, you have to face a lot of changes in your life, for example, start defining who you are or start thinking about your future. On the other hand, becoming a mom could be compared to experiencing a big earthquake in your life (but hopefully with not-so-bad consequences); just as the actress Olivia Wilde said “Motherhood is a heart-exploding, blissful hysteria”.
