The new products and services of Telemedicine can give hospitals and doctor offices the leading edge in saving lives. The attributes of this form of medicine would be by extending health care to correctional facilities, children, senior citizens and, by providing care in rural areas, Telemedicine would minimize repeat hospital stays by 20% and subsequently, relieve the burden of medical costs. With proper training, licensing and credentialing the telemedicine industry will have fewer constraints. Trained telemedicine personnel would then drive more grants and services to participating hospitals. The newest market niche making an impact today is on rural health and correctional medicine. Another market niche is employing telemedicine in correctional facilities which is emerging as a new market segment, giving states and local jurisdictions the ability to get health consultation and treatment to inmates without the cost of securely transporting them to medical facilities.
External Environment Commercialization Strategy in Telemedicine.
The first external environmental force that would shape an organization's commercialization strategy would be competition. Since, almost everyone has a cell phone or some sort of media device communication is fast becoming a means of business. With it more people can now be in contact with a healthcare professional thus, the health care community can provide a service and many facilities see the eventual profitability of this business.
