Test shouldn't be weighed as heavily on grades. As it says in the passage ,“Grades don’t determine the success of students” (Scriffiny). Since the grades are weighed so heavily they often discourage students, but grades don’t determine the success of every student. This shows that test have nothing to do with learning and how we evolve / adapt to life situations. In the passage it says, “ Grades have meaning to each letter… it connects to your credits for graduation”(Scriffiny).A lot of students work hard for their grades and want to obtain their average , but test can take a toll on the outcomes of students averages by lowering them an extended amount. This may cause students to think otherwise about maintaining their average by knowing what tax can be taken out. Therefore grades should be rationed , and the weighed of test should be lowered to take less pressure off a lot of students. …show more content…
The passage says,“focusing on what grade they will get… takes away.. Motive to learn the material”(Ash, Kattie). Students become more focus on grades till the point after the test they forget the information. This shows how test can become a distraction to actually learning. The question that often arises is "What must I get on the final exam to bring my grade to a certain level” (Ash, Kattie).This lets the readers know how serious grades are and that the final exam grade might not be possible considering some students everyday life situations. Grades and test can cause students to stress and become less motivated to keep thriving for the accomplishments they want to achieve. Grades shouldn’t be the center for students because there is more to every person than a grade, and the weight of test shouldn’t determine their future but motivate them to reaching future
