In 1798 Moses Austin moved his family to other lead mines in southeastern Missouri and established the town called Potosi in what is now called Washington County. James Crisp focus throughout the book is to uncover the truth about the Texas Revolution and how racism was a consequence because of it. He wants to remove the myths from Texas history. I personally believe that stereotype is an issue of mainstream media in the United States, especially in TV shows and movies. After reading “Here Comes the Hillbilly, Again” by Michelle Dean, and watching The Beverly Hillbillies - Getting Settled, I agree with Dean’s claim that the film producer used hillbilly stereotype to create comedic effect for the sitcom. For audience, this episode is entertaining because it has many humorous situations that exceed audience’s imagination. However, it also creates a stereotype of Southern people through the images of the Clampett family. Although they plan to live in Beverly Hills, an area for wealthy people, their old car, their old things, and their poor physical appearance do not look like millionaires.

One of the most famous quotes from Ellington was: “Billy Strayhorn was always the most unselfish, the most patient, and the most imperturbable, no matter how dark the day… He was my listener, my most dependable appraiser, and as a critic he would be the most clinical, but his background - both classical and modern - was an accessory to his own good taste and understanding… Billy Strayhorn was my right arm, my left arm, all the eyes in the back of my head, my brain waves in his head, and his in mine” (Ellington 156). As any jazz musician would do, Strayhorn valued creativity

The way we define ourselves and others varies upon how you view the person. Stereotypes are ideas or images a person has and places them upon other people they believe fit that category. I have been stereotyped many times and gave it no thought because I saw myself as a Mexican. I was always told that I was a Mexican. Throughout my life I was stereotyped.
Everything 's bigger in Texas, as denoted by the vast land composing the state of Texas. The culture, government, economy, language, and history can be traced back to the 19th century, to a time when Texas was a state governed by the country of Mexico.
