Also discusses many different reasons why someone or a business would want to make the change over to VoIP phones. VoIP solutions are more reliable and work more efficiently than DSL or PBX phone systems.

Too much screen use induces less communication between people and more time spent using technology. Technology used in our society in the same way. Sometimes people use television to forget about a hard time at work, others using phones in public, so they don’t have to interact with other people. “Little by little, technology has become an integral part of the way that people communicate with one another and has increasingly taken the place of face-to-face communication. Due to the rapid expansion of technology, many individuals fear that people may be too immersed in this digital world and not present enough in the real world,”.
Charles Fisher’s purpose of “Cell Phones and Social Graces” is to show how phone use makes society less social. He doesn’t own a cell phone himself, because he sees them as a menace to society. Fisher states throughout the text how you can’t go a day without seeing a cell phone. Fisher explains how cell phones can be rude. They take away so much of our social time, because most are too busy texting for facetiming there best friend.
Kids should get their own phone once they are in the 6th grade. Sixth grade is the start of middle school and middle school is in between elementary and high school. That's when kids start to mature and become more responsible from middle school to high school. When I was in 6th grade I biked home from school and one day my tier broke and I didn’t have a phone to tell my parents. Then my parents thought it would be good for me to get a phone.
Background: Technological advances have made way for various avenues of communication such as text and multimedia messaging. Since its induction, social media has captivated users of all ages and has become a common staple in households across the United States and has had a significant impact on American culture.

When I received my first phone, I remember never being able to put it down and kept texting for hours on end. It was wonderful, having the ability to talk to people without meeting them in person. Fast, instant, and easy, texting seemed perfect since it allowed me to be comfortable and connect with people regardless of the distance put in between, but an event happened that led me to the realization of the negatives of texting. When I started to feel uneasy and anxious talking to people face to face is when I realized that texting has been deteriorating my ability to converse with people in person. Texting seems to have this effect on most people because it becomes very easy to talk to people while not actually meeting them.
In her essay, “I Had a Nice Time with you Tonight, on the app,” Jenna Wortham believes that social media apps are a helpful way to connect. Wortham swears by apps and is grateful that she can communicate with her boyfriend who is three thousand miles away. Yet some may challenge the view that Social Media apps are a reliable and effective method of communicating, Sherry Turkle stresses people are substituting online communication for face-to-face interaction. Although Turkle may only seem of concern to only a small group of people, it should in fact concern anyone who cares about the negative effects social media can have on people. In her eyes, nothing can replace person-to-person communication.

Cellphones is also known as cellular phone; it is a transportable telephone that sends and receives radio signals through a network. Cellphone has a huge impact on people because it plays a major role in our daily communication; especially it helps us connect to other people easier. It gives us a chance of having access to different ability like keeping in touch with our family members, businesses relationships and more while we are in different places. However before the use of cell phone, people had desperate needs of mobile communication, so they had installed radiotelephones in their car. It was not effective and inconvenient to use, the main reason was the size, which was too big, and the use of phone was limited because it requires a powerful transmitter.

During the late 1800’s, communication became more advanced with the invention of the typewriter and the telephone. Roughly one hundred years later, a military project resulted in what we know today as the internet. With a little innovation, the internet made social interactions between people easier than ever, although, the convenience may come at a cost. Some theories suggest that heavy reliance on social media for human interaction will weaken communication skills, hinder meaningful social interactions, and negatively impact personal relationships.
The world we live in today is predominately changing with the advancement of digital communication in the daily aspects of our life. The rapid growth and evolution of digital communication, has resulted in it now becoming the backbone of the way we interact with other people. Beginning from simple 160-character SMS messages to text’s influence on the internet including Facebook, Twitter, Blogs and Instagram and then introduced on our mobile phones with BBM and whatsapp; digital communication has become a part of our spoken discourse. Digital communication in every aspect has impacted our lives as it helps jobs and businesses communicate a lot faster through e-mail, multimedia and texting.
