This novel is entertaining because of the illustrations and the connection between the audience and the characters. Normal chapter book doesn't usually have illustrations, but this book has many illustrations to help the reader to have an idea of what is going on in the situation. The pictures itself are very funny and adds more to the book in general. The story and plot is already amazing but the picture finishes the book and makes entertaining. It is also amazing how it connects with Arnold because he like to draw comic characters, and to see the picture Arnold draws shows the audience more to Arnold and is mindset. Another reason why “The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-time Indian” is entertaining to many different types of audience is because of the well developed characters that can relate the audience and real world problems. Writing a book with character and a plot line makes it a good novel but having a book with relatable with the audience makes the book stands out. When people are able to relate and have a special bonds then reading the story with make it more interesting and entertaining. An example is on page 210 and 211, it says “I didn't want to laugh. I wanted to stop laughing. I wanted to grab Rowdy and hang on to him. He was my best friend and I needed him. But I couldn't stop laughing. I looked at Rowdy and he was crying hard now.
