The four members were Paul McCartney, George Harrison, John Lennon, and Ringo Starr. When the Beatles were touring in the US, they would be surrounded by screaming fans, and would perform to sold out concerts. The Beatles caused an epidemic of "Beatlemania" throughout the nation and we're famous throughout the world.
The 1960’s were one of the best times in music history. The Beatles were founded and became very popular in the 60’s, too. The Beatles also happen to be one of the most popular bands in rock and roll history and continue to influence music of today. While most everyone knows the songs such as Here Comes the Sun and Hey Jude, not many people know how the band came together and rose to such popularity.
Throughout the 50s and 60s, the dominating music genre became rock n’ roll. This genre possessed a toe tapping backbeat rhythm accompanied by the simple riffs and licks many guitarists would play. Many successful artists emerged from this era, but the most memorable happens to be The Beatles. Contributing to the evolution of rock music, The Beatles consisted of four talented members: George Harrison- the lead guitarist, Ringo Starr- the drummer, Paul McCartney- the bass player and lead singer, and John Lennon- the guitarist and lead singer. Despite all of these members being equal to one another, McCartney and Lennon were placed on a pedestal leaving the other two behind.

Around Lennon being 3 to 4 years of age, World War 2 was happening, his parents split up, Lennon then started living with a nanny while his dad was a merchant seaman.
