The 2018 soccer world cup has recently begun, and one of the main debates is still about the best soccer player of this era.
There have been many amazing soccer players in the last few decades, but the main arguments are about determining the best player of them all.
The contrast between two of the best soccer players, Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo is evident through their skills, physique, and personal qualities; ultimately, Ronaldo is the better player due to his multiple talents.

To begin with, both players have skills that differ.
Messi is quick with his feet, he can easily evade the players that attempt to snatch the ball from him.
His ball skills are second to none, his runs from midfield are usually lethal and he is almost impossible …show more content…

This illustrates that Ronaldo has excellent ball control, even when running at speed and he can control the ball from any angle.
Messi has the ability to maintain his balance when he is running and has possession over the ball.
His balance when running at speed is incredible.
Consequently, Messi is able to keep his balance when running fast.
In contrast, Ronaldo has amazing free kicks which are always strong and on target.
The way his free-kicks swerve with pace and power is a great asset to his team.
This shows that Ronaldo can shoot free kicks from any spot on the field and have amazing accuracy.

Another difference that separates the two players is their physique.
Messi is hard to tackle due to his height and speed, even though he is short, he is dangerous.
Messi is not a big man and can be knocked off the ball by more imposing opponents. However, he is also well capable of holding his own in one-on-ones and often it takes a foul for a defender to knock him off the ball.
This illustrates that Messi is able to pass through any defender, even though he is short.
On the contrary, Ronaldo is tall and fast, he has astonishing head shots because of his height
