Tabula Rasa is Latin for blank slate in English. The online dictionary defines it as “an absence of preconceived ideas or predetermined goals; a clean slate”.
The Blank Slate is a theory that says that individuals are born with a blank mind; that is, there are no thoughts or ideas. The theory is that a human mind can only obtain knowledge, ideas, goals and thoughts from its own perceptions through sense-experience.

Empiricism is a philosophical theory that our true knowledge can only come from what we sense or experience. That is, we learn by observation, experimentation and experiences.
