Eventually, he took me home around eight in the afternoon. We drove slowly back to the cabin neither of us wanting today to be over. So, I said, “ When are you going to stop trying to kill me?”
He smiled and took a deep breath before answering, “ When you stop thinking that I’m trying to kill you, I’m lighting you up, that’s all.

It was completely dark when we got back to the cabin. I told him to kill the headlights as we came up the drive, so that my parents could be kept asleep, blissfully ignorant of today’s happenings.
He came around the passenger-side door and open it for me, I told him, “ Tomorrow I can’t do this, my parents are getting a bit suspicious. This was supposed to be our trip together before I go back to school.” …show more content…

He walked away then, back to his car, leaving me standing there. He waved back at me though the window and I waved at him wanting so much to get back in that truck. I waved back, but I’m not completely sure what face I was making hopefully it looked happy.
