What is National Association of the Deaf and when was it founded?
-The National Association of the deaf (NAD) is an organization that brought deaf people together from around the world who work for their common interest and fight for discrimination in the workplace and at school. NAD thought that Sign Language would be lost, so they made funds available to make a series of films in sign language. The National Association of the Deaf was founded in Cincinnati, Ohio in the year 1880.

-The “Dark Ages “was period in which was a time where there was lack of social understanding but had a strong oralism. Oralism is the use of speech and lip-reading as a form of speech for the people of the deaf community to use rather than sign language. The Deaf clubs was what kept their culture alive despite what others thought of how they would communicate with each other.
